Tudor-Doublet

in blue-gold silk damask

Period: late 16th century

This Tudor doublet with trousers was made for a young prince from a blue and gold silk damask fabric.
The stiffened doublet has the usual sleeve caps, the high stand-up collar with an additional lace collar, the attached peplum and the round-cut two-piece sleeves. The doublet is fastened at the front with antique metal buttons. The Venetian trousers are moderately wide and lightly padded. They are fastened at the front with buttons and also have lacing at the centre back to adjust the waistband.

The ensemble is completed by a velvet beret with a feather.
