Romanesque garment

in dark blue woollen fabric

Period: around 1000 – 1200

This Romanesque garment, a tunic, was worn from the 11th to the 13th century. The garment consists of a long, straight-cut undergarment made of hand-woven linen and a similarly cut tunic made of virgin wool. The hand-woven brocade borders make it clear that this is the garment of a nobleman.
