Period: 1810
This Regency day dress is made from a cotton fabric printed according to an original 19th century pattern. The colour combination cream-red or white-red was also popular in the Regency period. The pattern is based on an original.
The top with a rectangular neckline is fastened under the front flap with buttons. The width of the dress is mainly achieved by gathering the centre back. As is often the case with day dresses, long sleeves can be buttoned onto the short sleeves.
In this case, a Regency corset, also based on an original pattern, was worked to lift the bust above the usual size.
