Baroque children's dress

after a painting

Period: 1615

The design and production of this Baroque children's dress is based on the painting ‘Duke Ulrik’ by Jacob van Doort. It is made of a gold and black damask, the floral pattern of which is broken up by stripes in strict lines. Numerous trimmings at the front serve as fasteners, while the round-cut sleeves are decorated with the sleeve caps that were still common in the early 17th century.

The children's dress was purchased by the Swiss Museum Schloss Landshut.
